A mediocre theatre troupe gets into really tricky situations and sometimes has to act almost for their lives

It is the eve of the Second World War in Poland, where a theatre troupe from Warsaw is preparing a parody play about Hitler. The theatre troupe is not the most artistically high-quality, but at least there is plenty of inner fire. Then the Nazis take over Poland, and the Hitler parody must be replaced by something safer. When a young flight officer, spies and members of the resistance movement are added to the incomprehensible plot twists, the situation is not only awkward, but also life-threatening – and hilarious.

To Be or Not to Be is based on the film directed by Ernst Lubitsch , screenplay by Edwin Justus Mayer and Melchior Lengyel
