Misa Lommi has a bachelor’s degree in dance from the University of Dance and Circus in Stockholm in 2006 and a master’s degree in theatre arts from the Theatre Academy in 2013. Lommi works in a variety of ways both as a dancer and as an actor. She has danced in works by Tero Saarinen, Tom Weksler, Valtteri Raekallio, Kinetic Orchestra, Susanna Leinonen and Carl Knif, among others. As an actor, she has been engaged at the Swedish Theatre and the Stockholm City Theatre, where she also worked as a dancer at K. Kvarsntröm & Co. She has also acted in the Group Theatre and the Espoo City Theatre. At the Helsinki City Theatre, Lommi is engaged in 2022–23 and will play one of the main roles in the play I Chose You, directed by Milja Sarkola. In addition, she has danced in Helsinki Dance Company’s Three Works from Contact and Lomonosov’s Engine. Lommi has also worked in films and TV shows, such as Other Girls, Fiddler, Transport and Rotten Apples, as well as Paula Vesala’s dancer. She has been teaching contemporary dance and improvisation at Tamara Rasmussen College, among others, since 2016.
