Backstage

What audiences usually see on stage is only a fraction of the work that goes on behind the theatre’s walls. Take a peek behind the scenes in the Backstage section of our website, where videos and articles introduce you to the work of hundreds of theatre professionals!

Helsinki City Theatre is Finland’s largest theatre, employing around 240 passionate theatre professionals, from actors and carpenters to ticket sales staff and costume designers. In addition, the theatre employs around 100 temporary staff members.

We wanted to give audiences a glimpse behind the scenes and introduce them to the work of these hundreds of professionals. That is why we opened the doors to Backstage, where videos and articles offer insights into the people and work behind areas such as set construction, costumes and artistic design.
