Shed Musical Theatre
Shed Musical Theatre gives a variety of children and young people aged 10–19 the opportunity to engage in and make Christmas musicals together with the professionals of the Helsinki City Theatre.
In the Shed musical theatre group, you will practice theatre making, singing, dancing and acting together with theatre professionals. The season begins at the beginning of spring and culminates in a Christmas musical, the premiere of which will be celebrated at Studio Pasila.

In collaboration with the Shed Foundation
The foundation is modelled on the London-based Chickenshed Theatre, which has been making art out of diversity together with children and young people for more than 40 years. Shed is backed by the Shed Foundation, established by Elisa in 2017, with the purpose of making Shed’s operations long-term. The Foundation’s most important work is done through continuous hobby activities. The Foundation enables diverse child and youth work that takes special needs children into account. The patron of the Shed project is Suzanne Innes-Stubb, spouse of the President of the Republic.

Young people’s comments on Shed activities
“Shed means a lot of laughter and a lot of fun time with my friends. I’ve got a new friend in Shed. Shed has made my life more active.”

“It’s really nice to always go to training! It’s wonderful to be able to dance, sing and act, and we have really nice teachers! And then you get to know all kinds of different people, even those you might not otherwise get to know. I’m not afraid of being “different” anymore, because I know that we all have something in common, even if we look different. I can’t wait for the performances to start!! It’s so great to wait behind the scenes for your turn to get on stage!”
