Shed musical theatre

Shed musical theatre gives children and young people aged 10–19 of all backgrounds the opportunity to enjoy theatre as a hobby and create a Christmas musical together with professionals from Helsinki City Theatre.

In the Shed musical theatre group, participants practise theatre-making, singing, dancing and acting together with theatre professionals. The season begins early in the year and culminates in a Christmas musical, which premieres at Studio Pasila.

In partnership with the Shed Foundation

The Foundation was inspired by Chickenshed, a London-based theatre that has been creating art from diversity together with children and young people for over 40 years. Shed is supported by the Shed Foundation, established by Elisa in 2017 to ensure the long-term continuity of Shed’s activities. The Foundation’s most important work is carried out through its ongoing recreational activities. It enables diverse work with children and young people that also takes children with special needs into account. The patron of the Shed project is Suzanne Innes-Stubb, spouse of the President of the Republic of Finland.
