Shed-musiikkiteatteri celebrates its 10th anniversary with Liisa pelimaassa, set in a virtual world

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Shed Musical Theatre brings a completely new take on Lewis Carroll’s famous classic tale to the Studio Pasila stage in December. At the heart of this beloved Christmas tradition and musical collaboration are Shed’s captivating young performers.
In the play written by Jyri Numminen, sisters Liisa and Leena are caught making secret purchases with their mother’s credit card, and the two fall out. Liisa’s friend Jossu wants to comfort her and persuades her to try the Wonderland video game – a game where you can be anyone and do anything!
In this extraordinary virtual world, Liisa and Jossu meet other players, including the cat-like Virnu, moderator Kani_Valkonen and the hilarious duo Mara and Luru. Wonderland is also packed with all kinds of game characters, from Hessu Hatuntekijä and Logitoukka to Boris Lyllerö. Liisa plays on, amassing in-game currency, unaware that a faulty update has made the game dangerous – Herttakuningatar now rules the virtual realm! And soon, Liisa is accused of breaking the rules of the game…
The production has also been inspired by material created by Shed’s young performers. Joining them on stage are Helsinki City Theatre’s own professional actors Kai Lähdesmäki as Kani_Valkonen and Tiina Peltonen as Herttakuningatar.
Premieres at Studio Pasila on 1. and 2.12.2026
