The spring season of the Helsinki City Theatre’s studio Pasila begins with the straightforward relationship comedy No Thank You, based on Anna-Leena Härkönen’s bestselling novel, on 7 February. A fresh interpretation of the play dramatised by Heikki Paavilainen is directed by Mira Kivilä.

Heli loves her husband Matti, but what to do when he is more interested in a computer than a wife? Heli, who longs for a man’s attention, gets to know the young Jarno, and a wild affair also opens Heli’s eyes to the reality of her marriage.

No thanks is a comedy about a woman’s lust, desire and needs. The message of the play is clear: if you love, say it, and touch,” says director Mira Kivilä.

The roles of the raucous comedy are played by Aksinja Lommi, Vappu Nalbantoglu (Heli), Leenamari Unho, Antti Timonen (Matti) and Pyry Äikää (Jarno). The choreographer is Johanna Elovaara, and the set and costumes are designed by Tuomas Lampinen. The lighting design is by Teppo Saarinen and the sound design by Ari-Pekka Saarikko. The camouflage and hairstyles were designed by Milja Mensonen.

No Thank You is actress, screenwriter and director Mira Kivilä’s debut at the Helsinki City Theatre. He has performed numerous roles in various theaters, television series, and films in the country. Kivilä is remembered for Tapio Piirainen’s films and the TV series Raid.

The recommended age for the performance is 16 years and up.
