The big favourite of the little ones, Kani Untuvakerä at the City Theatre

From 13 September, the Helsinki City Theatre’s small stage foyer will be visited by Teatteri Hevosenkenkä’s delightful puppet theatre performance Kani untuvakerä. The play, directed by Kirsi Siren and dramatised together with Anita Sohlberg , will be performed by Outi Haaranen-Halme.

Suitable for the youngest members of the family, this sweet story tells about the importance of helping others. The fairy tale features hilarious animal characters such as a hedgehog, a mole, a mother bird and Mr. Fox Repolainen.

Since 1993, the great favourite of the little people has been performed more than 850 times at Teatteri Hevosenkenkä and as a guest performance abroad, e.g. in Japan and Sweden.

“The Rabbit Down Ball is like a living storybook that is opened and in whose world you experience warmth and beauty and even a little excitement, and after closing it, you have learned something about life. The play’s endearing characters, calm performance and humour have captivated both children and adults hundreds of times. Grandparents want to offer it to who knows how many grandchildren, and kindergarten teachers bring a new age group to the ‘Rabbit’ time and time again. ‘Rabbit’ was made out of great love. And it has also experienced that love from its audience,” says director Kirsi Siren.

The set and puppets of Kani Untuvakerä are designed by Ulla Vaajakallio, and the music is by Sven Nygård. Dan Knaster is responsible for the lighting design and technical implementation.
 

Age recommendation for 2-7 year olds.
The duration of the performance is about 35 minutes.

The premiere of Rabbit Untuvakerä on 13.9.2017 at 10 am and performances until 28.10.2017 in the foyer of the Helsinki City Theatre’s small stage (Eläintarhantie 5).
