Moulin Rouge! The performance of the musical had to be interrupted – the performance was resumed with an actor on standby

Actor Risto Kaskilahti himself interrupted the performance about 30 minutes after the start due to his unwell, and already 15 minutes later, the performance was resumed by the so-called ensemble role. Osku Ärilä jumped into the role of the nightclub’s owner Harold Zidler.

“We are prepared for exceptional situations, but luckily this doesn’t happen often, and luckily Risto is doing well. Osku Ärilä had prepared for the role in the rehearsal phase of the musical and now performed it in front of an audience for the first time – and really well. I am very proud of the entire working group, which worked with tremendous professionalism so that the audience was able to see the performance to the end after such a small interruption,” says Theatre Director Kari Arffman.

“Risto Kaskilahti will continue as usual in the musical and in the rehearsals of the play Sinun, Margot , which premieres in February. In Lemppi , which premieres in November, Kaskillahti has a voice role. Osku Ärilä will be seen in the role of Zidler today, Wednesday 30 October and Friday 1 November,” Arffman adds.
