Fretti Mercury etsii onnea
Ferret Mercury Seeks Happiness is a deep-minded musical about friendship and the search for happiness.
The melancholy Ferret Mercury lures his friend Jänis Virtanen to seek happiness. Along the way, which turns out to be an amazing adventure, they encounter many creatures who are happy in different ways, but luck never seems to reach them themselves.
Can help in finding happiness in the wisdom of Jon Bon Ovi, the precise enthusiasm of Kirva Babitzin, the briskness of Mother Rantanen the Mouse, the tenacious easy-going nature of Tessu Redford, the rebelliousness of Million the Owl, the perfect sharpness of Naula Vesala, or perhaps the beautiful singing voice of Mattila the Lamb?
And is it enough for the friends to have the courage to go through the scary and dark Tunnel
To find happiness in Jaatteenmäki? The world’s best private detective, Seiti Detective, also finally comes out of her freezer to help the friends achieve their goal.
The musical’s incredibly inventive music is composed by Marzi Nyman and lyrics by Mariska. The music has levels for viewers of all ages, and the text is full of Miika Nousiainen’s original linguistic delight. Parents who have come to the auditorium with their children will find features that draw inspiration from the characters’ title models in different songs. In keeping with the theme of the play, both unbridled fun and harrowing wistfulness go hand in hand within the songs.
But is happiness always inside the seeker or is it something that can be displayed, for example, on a bookshelf?
The performance is based on the children’s book of the same name by Miika Nousiainen and Sanna-Mari Pirkola , published in 2020.
