Mikko Räsäsen tulevaisuus
An honest drama with rough hands and a warm heartHuom! Poistunut ohjelmistosta!
Mikko Räsänen, a city worker, has experienced a great loss and is trying to cope with his everyday life with his son Aapo, who will soon turn eighteen. Mikko is a second-generation builder of the city. The renovation of the water supply is underway at Mikko’s site, but the project is being sold to the public as a bicycle path.
“It’s nicer to tell the townspeople that we’re building a bike lane than that your shit doesn’t fit in the old pipes anymore,” says engineer Kimmo Niemi, who is in charge of the project.
The mayor has arranged a “City Case” to be streamed at the construction site, the idea of which is to show taxpayers in the form of a live online broadcast how the promised bicycle path has already been completed. However, there is not even a metre of a bicycle path ready, as the intention is to make sewers and water pipes, not a bicycle path. The foreman orders a section of bicycle path to be demolished immediately after the incident for streaming.
“If they want a PR stunt on the construction site, let’s tell the taxpayers our hourly wages. What does Pavel get? Eleven euros? For the foreman, fifteen, with thirty years of experience. Let’s show it.” Mikko Räsänen suggests.
Lasse Kosonen, a service designer who is responsible for the production of Kaupunkitapaus, wanders around the construction site with his bicycle and gets into a confrontation with Mikko. Mikko and Lasse have to sort out not only their mutual relationship, but also the general situation in society. “We no longer have class boundaries that cannot be crossed,” Lasse claims.
Mikko Räsänen’s future is written by Mika Ripatti. This is the third part of the trilogy, the previous parts being the audience and critically acclaimed There’s no Harri (2012) and The Serious Problem (2016).
