Lavalla seisoo ruskeaan neulenauhapukuun pukeutunut mies, jolla on kädessään samppanjapullo ja lasi, ja katsoo sivulle yllättyneenä. Taustalla näkyvät studiovalot ja lavalaitteet.

Nainen, jolla on punaiset housut, läpikuultava valkoinen pusero ja mustat korkokengät, istuu punaisella penkillä, hymyilee ja katsoo ylöspäin. Hänen ympärillään lattialla on valkoisia kuppeja, ja tausta on tumma.

Nainen, jolla on vaaleat hiukset, hymyilee kirkkaasti. Hänellä on päällään läpikuultava valkoinen pitsinen pusero mustan topin päällä, punaiset housut ja musta vyö, ja hän seisoo tumman taustan edessä.

Kolme ihmistä seisoo yhdessä sisätiloissa hymyillen ja nauraen katsellen käsissään olevia papereita tai valokuvia. He näyttävät nauttivan iloisesta, hilpeästä hetkestä yhdessä.

Silmälasipäinen ja tummaan pukuun pukeutunut mies seisoo sisätiloissa kädet kohotettuna ja ilmeikkäät kasvot modernin, geometrisen taustan edessä.

Valkoiseen pitsiasuun pukeutunut nainen elehtii ilmeikkäästi käsillään puhuessaan, kun mustaan pukuun ja valkoiseen paitaan pukeutunut mies seisoo hänen vieressään ja katsoo tarkkaavaisesti.

Punertava tukkainen henkilö, jolla on maastohousut ja musta toppi, makaa punaisella sohvalla ja lukee kirjaa hämärässä ympäristössä, jossa on tumma tausta.

Nainen, jolla on vaaleat hiukset, musta takki ja polvenkorkuiset mustat saappaat, nojaa yllättyneenä eteenpäin ja pitää pulloa toisessa kädessään lavalla.

Mies, jolla on silmälasit, musta paita ja pilkullinen solmio, nauraa ja pitää kädessään juomaa hämärässä sisätilassa.

THE YUPPIE SKY IS COLLAPSINGOvershooting, almost creating caricatures, Pasi Lampela draws a picture of the so-called successful people of our time, whose youth drew its ideas from the yuppies of the 1980s. That’s how exhaustively it should be described. The play The Team , written and directed by Lampela, mercilessly hits its mark on the small stage of the Helsinki City Theatre. Boundless narcissism, which is bolstered by the gossip press, the inner emptiness and loneliness of those who have run after money and success, and a lifestyle in which one’s own pleasure is the most important thing, all get their share.The team’s entire working group does precise work in the middle of a close dialogue. Sara Paavolainen’s character is one of the most touching: towards the end of the play, she becomes more and more naked and, despite all her pride, extremely fragile.

ENGAGING DRAMA ABOUT THE CITY PEOPLE Playwright and director Pasi Lampela has already distinguished himself with interesting productions at Teatteri Jurkka, for example. Now Lampela has both written and directed the play Tiimi about the generation that now, in its forties, looks back on its youth in the self-centred, narcissistic 1980s, when city dwellers and urbanism prevailed.

NOT JUST A TEAM, BUT AN ENTIRE GENERATION – Pasi Lampela’s play about forty-year-old yuppies is a touching comedy.Pasi Lampela’s head doesn’t freeze much. After all, the man has written a play from scratch. Paradoxically, The Team is also the best of Lampela’s works to date.The play tells the story of a production company run by career missiles in their forties, which, after ten years of churning out commercials, has completed its first feature film. The funeral of a screenwriter who committed suicide coincides with the same seam. The manuscript of a great contemporary novel can be found in the man’s estate. It turns out to be a bunch of blank papers.
