In early 2026, HKT will premiere the farce comedy Comedy about a bank robbery directed by Samuel Harjanne, a warm-hearted play about friendship, love and ageing called Kurtturuusut and a new dramatisation of Hildur, based on Satu Rämö's bestselling book. Lilla Teatern's spring premiere will feature the absurd working life comedy Status Quo.

Re-dramatised by Satu Rasila and directed by Tuomas Parkkinen, Hildur brings Icelandic mysticism and suspense to the stage in an unprecedented way.

This late autumn's premiere at Lilla Teatern is The History of Violence. It is based on the first two novels by the French bestselling author Édouard Louis, Getting Rid of Eddy Bellegueule (2014) and The History of Violence (Histoire de la violence, 2016)

Helsinki City Theatre's Helsinki Dance Company's autumn dance performance Project No. 2191 will premiere on the small stage on 12 November. With the work, HDC's dancers and internationally acclaimed Hungarian choreographer Adrienn Hód invite the audience to join them on a unique movement-based exploration of the human body and mind.

The Board of Directors of the Helsinki Theatre Foundation has appointed David Sandqvist, Master of Arts (Theatre and Drama), as the Artistic Director of Lilla Teatern. The second contract period of the current Artistic Director Jakob Höglund ends on 31 July 2026, when Höglund will move on to other duties.

On 9 October, the true story of Finnish professional soldier Aleksi Lysander (1989–2024) will premiere on the Small Stage. Aleksi Suomesta is an adaptation by Ari-Pekka Lahti of Tuomas Kyrö's book of the same name, which was nominated for the Finlandia Prize for non-fiction (WSOY, 2023). Directed by Tuomas Rinta-Panttila, the film features Roderick Kabanga and Eetu Känkänen.
