The City Theatre published its annual report for 2024 – a staggering 327,000 spectators in the 2024–2025 performance year

A total of 19 premieres were produced at the Helsinki City Theatre in the 2024–2025 performance year. A total of more than 327,000 spectators visited the theatre during the autumn and spring (2023–2024: 267,000, 2022–2023: 251,000). In addition, a total of more than 18,000 people participated in audience outreach activities and various events. A total of 811 performances were seen during the year.

What does the internet raise girls to be, asks the performance little_star95 – ooksä online, which dives into the internet in the early 2000s?

Sara Koiranen, Iida Hägglund and the working group's presentation little_star95 – ooksä online? is a nostalgia trip that invites you to take a trip to a teenage girl's room and spend an evening on the internet in the early 2000s. The work, which will be completed during the Helsinki City Theatre's Contemporary Performance Stage's summer residency, will premiere on 7 August at Studio Pasila.

Moulin Rouge! The musical has already been seen by 118,000 spectators – in autumn 2025, new faces will also be seen on stage

Moulin Rouge! The musical premiered on the big stage of the Helsinki City Theatre on 29 August 2024 and has already been seen by more than 118,000 spectators. After one year of performance, the musical is the best-selling continuously performed HKT musical of the 2000s. The work will continue in the repertoire until autumn 2025. Jennie Storbacka, Martti Manninen and Risto Kaskilahti will continue in the lead roles, but new faces will also be seen on stage in the autumn.

Helsinki City Theatre participates in supporting the well-being of elderly Helsinki residents

The Art for the Homes of the Elderly project, which has been running since 2021, brings participatory art activities into the everyday lives of the elderly. In the project, people meet in many ways through art, stories and joyful togetherness. In addition, the project trains City of Helsinki employees and university of applied sciences students who work with the elderly. The project is part of the Helsinki City Theatre's audience outreach and it is funded by the City of Helsinki.
