De obehöriga
A group of neighbours gathers at Töölö Square to discuss a problem: unauthorised people have started hanging around in their stairwell. People have also been spotted in the basement, storage areas and laundry room. And someone has failed to clean up after their dog.
Suggestions come thick and fast: a new coded lock, more cameras, better lighting, perhaps even facial recognition at the entrance? At the same time, old disputes between neighbours begin to resurface – who is always leaving rubbish lying around and letting strangers into the stairwell? After all, you don’t pay hundreds of thousands for a home only to feel unsafe in your own stairwell.
As fears grow, distrust and anxiety rise to the surface. What is real, what is imagined, and how do we affect one another when we are driven by worry, loneliness and a longing for security?
With warm humour, master of horror John Ajvide Lindqvist portrays just how easily our sense of security can be shaken – and how quickly “us” can become “them”.
The performance is in Swedish. Finnish and Swedish surtitles are available through the Subtitle Mobile app. The app can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store or Google Play. During the performance, you can follow the surtitles on your own device. The app will ask for a surtitling code. The code is OBEH.
PLEASE NOTE! There is no surtitling screen in the auditorium.
At selected performances, drinks purchased from the foyer bar may be taken into the auditorium. These performances are marked K18 in the performance calendar and, under alcohol legislation, are restricted to audiences aged 18 and over.
