Helsinki City Theatre is one of the actors in the Culture Sponsors project and one of the theatre sponsors for children born in Helsinki in 2021. The sponsor theatres offer two events a year in which the sponsored children can participate with their families.

Theatre activities for the elderly
In 2023, the Art for the Homes of the Elderly project launched the From Story to Theatre project, where people meet around stories. The activities will also continue in the 2025–2026 season. The From Story to Theatre activities are based on the utilisation of story theatre in encounter work. Story theatre is a form of improvisational theatre in which the participants' experiences and stories are brought to the stage into small performances.

Broadcast series about theatre employees in the middle of everyday life
At the beginning of 2023, Helsinki City Theatre's audience outreach launched a new broadcast series, The Maker at the Point of His Work. In the series, we meet theatre employees in the middle of everyday work and get to know how the artistic worlds of theatre are created, how the repertoire is built, how the performers prepare for the performance and what theatre employees think is the best thing about the job.

In the project, people encounter art in different ways. As part of the project, professionals and students working with the elderly will be trained.

Helsinki City Theatre's Light Draws the Furrows of Your Face series was created from encounters between artists and the elderly as part of the Art for the Homes of the Elderly project. The exhibition highlights nine stories of elderly people living at home in Helsinki. The opening of the exhibition was celebrated at the Redi Shopping Centre in spring 2022, after which it has toured around Helsinki.
