On 1 February, Jez Butterworth's Jerusalem will premiere on the small stage of the Helsinki City Theatre. Directed by Pasi Lampela, the play that has become an exceptional phenomenon in the world stars Santeri Kinnunen.

Sally Salminen's internationally successful novel Katrina (1936) will have its musical premiere at Lilla Teatern on 31 January 2024. The musical monologue is a co-production between Lilla Teatern, Åbo Svenska Teater and Wasa Teater.

The premiere of the spring season of the Helsinki City Theatre's dance group Helsinki Dance Company is Blood Wedding, a combination of flamenco and contemporary dance with the renowned Compañía Kaari & Roni Martin. The work will premiere at Studio Pasila on 24 January.

On 18 April, the premiere on the small stage will take place on the small stage, based on Horace McCoy's novel Shooting Horses (1935), featuring 12 third-year students of the Theatre Academy. The work is directed by Heidi Räsänen.

In 2023, the Helsinki City Theatre had a total of 280,136 spectators. The Little Mermaid and Mousetrap, which will receive additional performances on the big stage in the spring season, attracted the most viewers. Satisfaction with the City Theatre was also reflected in excellent ratings in the viewer survey.

The Board of Directors of the Helsinki Theatre Foundation has appointed dancer and choreographer Valtteri Raekallio as the director of the Helsinki City Theatre's dance company, Helsinki Dance Company. The new director will start in his position on 1.8.2024.
