The Board of Directors of the Helsinki Theatre Foundation has appointed Viena Loire as the Director of Finance and Administration of the Helsinki City Theatre. The new Director of Finances and Human Resources will start in his position on 12 May 2025 with an indefinite contract.

Director Minna Lund's Agora – Two Mermaids in an Empty Pool will premiere on 29 April at the Helsinki City Theatre's studio Pasila. The performance takes the audience to the unveiling of the mystical statue, which goes wild into insatiable spring rejoicing.

Helsinki City Theatre's audience outreach organises Art for Homes events as part of the Malmi in the Main Role art project. In the spring and autumn of 2025, ordinary homes and home environments in the Malmi area will be transformed into stages and venues for art events.

In early autumn 2025, HKT will premiere Juha Jokela's new comedy Let's Play Business, the fresh farce comedy Sutinaa ja säätöä, the historical contemporary drama The Queen's Play, Aleksi from Finland, based on a true story, and the brand new musical play for the whole family, Who Captured the Sun. Lilla Teatern's autumn premiere will be Hyenans dagar, based on Saara Turunen's book. In August, the stage of the contemporary performance will bring to the premiere of the little_star95 – ooksä online? performance. In addition, the big favorites Moulin Rouge! The musical and My Brother the Lion's Heart will continue on the big stage throughout the autumn.

Red Nose Company celebrates its 20th anniversary by staging a Swedish-language performance for adults for the first time. The renowned professional theatre, specialising in theatre clownery, has been performing in Finnish since 2005. Strömsö offers an escape from reality and happy endings, and in this performance, the clowns also sing opera for the first time in the history of the Red Nose Company. The play will premiere on May 13 at Lilla Teatern, where it will be performed five times before going on tour in the fall of 2025.

Helsinki City Theatre brings to the stage the true story of Finnish professional soldier Aleksi Lysander (1989–2024). The play Aleksi Suomesta has been dramatised by Ari-Pekka Lahti from Tuomas Kyrö's book of the same name, which was nominated for the Finlandia Prize for non-fiction (WSOY, 2023). The play, directed by Tuomas Rinta-Panttila, will premiere on 9 October on a small stage.
